I didn't vote for him (actually, I didn't vote for anyone because I'm lazy, but if I had, I wouldn't of voted for him). Neither he, nor McCain were ideal choices in my opinion, but McCain seemed like the better choice to me. With McCain, I liked him, but hated Palin.
McCain seemed like the tough guy that could get the country turned around. Palin seemed like another Bush, but this time with a vagina. And more silly laws and beliefs.
Do I think Obama is a bad man, or a bad president? Certainly not on the first, and we've defiently had worse on the latter. I just don't think he's right for our country, and I don't think he'll be a good president. With Bush, I saw our president. Our stupid, ape-like president, but our president none the less. With Obama, I'm not sure what I see. He just doesn't really seem like a president, I guess.
I hope Obama doesn't make any major mistakes while trying to befriend everyone.
I also agree with Ink on the matter of the bailout. After the Great Depression, America came back, and did wonderfully. Sometimes, things need to get worse before they get better. The way it's going now, I think we'll end up suffering for a few more years before the bailout/stimulus finally fails completely, and it happens anyway.

I'm starting to be a little unsure about Obama. I think he has good intentions, but some of the things he does seem either too much the same or that he does them just to be different in the extreme. None of it seems to be beneficial to our country so far. As far as befriending everyone, he should work on his own country first. The people here don't seem to love him much- Well, I suppose the majority really does. But the things you hear people say would lead you to believe otherwise.

I'm so out of the loop. I never watch the news or read the paper or anything. None of my friends talk about politics at school either. So basically, I don't know what the president has been up to lately. I also banned my parents from talking about politics around me because they always end up arguing so if I intend to know what's going on I suppose I should start watching the news or something.
Honestly though, I don't think I really need to know what he's doing. Sorry if that sounds odd, but I mean, it doesn't make a difference either way to me. I don't intend to start a protest or anything even if he does something I can't stand and if he does stuff I like I'm not going to do anything either. I'm okay with not following it now. We're all only watching so closely because he's new. Then it will die down until for a couple of years and then we'll all be watching closely again when the term starts drawing to a close.

Hasn't his approval rating already dropped to 59%? Probably the stupidest thing I think he's done would be taking Palestine's side and saying Israel was in the wrong. I really think he opened a can of worms there. In the long run, Palestine will still hate us (if we were to stop and say "sorry" to China and South Korea, and all of our enemies, they'd still hate us), and now our allies will probably trust us less (especially Israel, which I believe trains us in security measures!). Perhaps I'm incorrect on the matter, but that's how I saw it. /Endrant because that's all it really was.

I'm afraid of what may become of our country in the near future, but McCain would probably be even worse, i think.

Really, this debate was going to end up here eventually: If our president causes nuclear war, do you think we'll survive? And if so, do you think it'll be at all like irl Fallout?

I sure hope it just doesn't go that far...

I don't think it'd be that bad, in the long run. But, I'm too lazy to go on about why I think that.

As do I. But, I think that people would begin living for the proper reasons again, and that we wouldn't have just a terrible over population problem. Oh crap, I've started it.

Nothing says we couldn't survive. Just imagine all the people who would die would be people you hate! Like uh, Micheal Jackson! (or my Grandma)

Actually, my dad was predicting this kind of thing when it became certain he would be President. But yeah, it was the whole "vote for the lesser of two evils" thing going down in my house during election.
Actually, if you think about it, this would can hold a HECK of a lot more people in it, yeah it's bigger population that it's ever been, but, we can hold a lot more people.
I don't really think there's going to be a nuclear war, and if there is, then... Well, there goes all of our problems. But anyways, I think what's coming next is Dark Age, you know, when the oil goes away and we can't pick up the lag, the things like electricity goes and everything. That's my personal opinion.

Actually, technically speaking, it can only hold another billion people before there's world-wide issues with food, water, disease, etc. It may seem like a lot of people, but people are rapidly breeding, so that'll probably come along in another 100ish years.
A nuclear war is actually more likely than you'd think - and less of a disaster than you'd think. For example, radiation would "go away" (return to safe levels) relativally quickly; between 14 days and 3 years, to be exact. Such a disaster would probably kill between a quarter and two thirds of the earth's population, as opposed to all of it.
Many countries, including our enemies, have nuclear missiles. America has nuclear bombs 400 times the size of the ones we dropped over Japan during WWII. We have come very close to nuclear wars before, and we probably will again. Not to mention, we're not as "popular" with other countries as we used to be.
