This might be difficult for some of you, but I want you to try. Forget everything you know about the students of Hogwarts. Get rid of your memories of Lily and James Potter and Alice and Frank Longbottom. Make Voldemort and the Death Eaters disappear right along with Harry Potter and his lightening shaped scar. If you've managed to do all of this, you should have a pretty blank canvas. Now imagine different couples. Imagine a world where Severus never called Lily a Mudblood and she realized she and her best friend belonged together. Though it is hard to believe think of Sirius happily married with children and Moony married to his best friend's cousin. This is the world of today. Things are completely different then they once were and people are fairly happy. Sure there are still problems like keeping muggles from finding out about magic, and keeping those rogue witches and wizards in line, but all in all, life is happy and the kids are about to embark on another journey and year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
