Oh, well, I usually have more than one, but I always one main, main character, who's point of view the reader is using. I usually write medieval fantasy, though, so it's always swords and whatnot.
I always try to make it epic. It wouldn't be worth it otherwise.
Also, I find that I always put too many character in there and forget who was who and who would say what, lol. Though, because I have it all planned out in my head, I never have the problem with "I wish I hadn't killed them off" and if I do I just go back and fix it. Which is acceptable in novel ^^

I usually have it semi-planned out, but the details on the conversations are usually foggy.

I have problems with connecting scenes too. I also get bored writing stuff where there's no action so I either get impatient and have some violent, dramatic scene at the beginning that doesn't fit there properly or I write the dramatic violent scenes intending to connect them later but never getting around to it. Or I do it the right way but I get bored of the topic before I have a chance to write any of the actiony scenes. And that is why when I write it's usually really depressing, violent short stories about people getting murdered. xD

I love writing converstions and stuff. I like connecting my characters.
You know, Ink, I'm the exact opposite. I have a really hard time writing the action scenes, and they generally bore me, and I write all the parts inbetween and it when I get to the part where there should be action I'm like... Now what? =/
