I remember a law suit where a man broke into a house via a skylight over a kitchen, fell on some kitchen knives, and sued for injuries, lost wages, etc. He won.

I know a good one. Guy gets locked into someone's garadge because after he gets in the door breaks and the house door is locked. The family is on vacation, so he has to eat dog food for six days.
He sues for the broken door and his situation and WINS.

It isn't like I do either, Superman. But I'm going to keep talking anyway.
In Texas, it's pretty acceptable to shoot anything that breaks into your house, so I don't need to worry. Although, when my parents were younger (before I was even born), they were robbed. My dad didn't own a gun (he's from South Dakota, or something, and didn't even know why he'd need a gun), so he beat the guy with a baseball bat.
The robber obviously lived, but suffered two broken ribs and a fractured leg, or something. He tried to sue, claiming he was a drunk who wandered in, but when they realised he had climbed through a second story window and carefully removed a window pane so he didn't set off the alarm, the case was dropped.
That was about 27 years ago, so this "I'm going to sue you for defending yourself" crap isn't new.

Lol, talk about a poor liar! I find it so funny the things people will sue other people with... I mean, what the heck were they thinking? It make sme wonder if there's any intelligence left in this world at all!
But... Yeah... I don't have any stories to contribute... My sister had her scooter stolen once, that count? lol xD

Haha. On the other side of the spectrum (sp?), my younger sister once broke into someone's house. She didn't get caught, though, and wouldn't have sued them if she had. Probably. I don't really know about her. The lights are all on, and someone is home, but they're watching the neighbors undress, you know?

No, if somebody's broken into your house than you have the right to shoot them. I mean, when somebody breaking into your house it's not for a nice visit, and it usually is very harmful. So, yeah, as long as you're protecting yourself (or somebody else) it's not illegal to kill them because it's self-defense.... I learned this from watching "Monk" ^^(He's my hero! xD)

If you're shooting in defense it's not illegal. I mean, if there's a guy that going to kill a mother's child than she has every fucking right to blow his brains out, right? I would think so, if not that this world's more fucked up than I though <.< ><
