Jesus isn't really dead, he's in Heaven waiting his time to come down and save us all.
And God sent Jesus to die because he loves us. You see, Jesus=God, so God died on the cross to save us. If that's not love than, I don't know what is.
God freaked out about the Fruit just like any parent would when a kid does something that'll hurt them. Because he was worried for us! So, he grounded us. My (earthly) dad's grounded me, but he's still a big-ass softy!
Temptation. To test us and obedience to Him. Everybody since then has failed at least once and we always will. At least... That's what I believe.
I don't believe either of you are evil nor should you be smited. Even if you were he wouldn't because He gives everybody a second, third, fourth, fifth, hundredth(yeah, skipped a few) chance. Just like an earthly parent would.

It's sick and disturbing. Jesus and God aren't the same. So yes, it is sending your son to die.
Yeah but the fruit didn't really hurt Adam and Eve. God lied to them because he didn't want them to have knowlege.
Life is not a TEST. I'd rather fail if that's the way God is going to be.
He doesn't give out second chances, he sends us to Hell. Not such a softie, is he?

He's actually waiting until we're ready for the world to end to come and send Lucifer and his demons into a boiling pit of acid, thus saving us.
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirite are all aspects of the same Diety. God is the All Powerful Creator and Ruler, Jesus is the Peace-Keeper(Lord) and Savior and the Holy Spirit is our Guide.
Seperated for our sakes.
God said if the ate the fruit they would die. They did die, before that there was no aging.
I personally believe that the test is to live life and to live it fully, happily and lovingly. That sounds like a pretty good test to me, and I'd rather pass it personally... Up to you I guess.
I can't even begin to count all the chances I've had(and turned away) from God, and He ever gives us another at the End of Time, after death... And if you think about it, Heaven and Hell have no times, so it's not really that long of wait, is it?

On a more serious note, you actually put up some very good arguments, a lot of the same ones I did when I didn't believe... Though, I usually also added the Church's(all churches) history and it's corruption...
I'm not trying to sound all-knowing and arrogant, I'm just complimenting. A lot of people don't believe strongly, yet have no arguments as to why they feel that way, and I like how you argued. ^^

Well, it's a hard one to go against.
Changing the subject a little(though, still religious) Did you know that there was, at the beginning of time with Abramham, two aspects of God(Before there were the three we have now) One was male the other female?
The Church took it out because wemon weren't "human" in their eyes, more like cattle. :/
